Two complete documents, each built from public sources. Read the analysis alongside the chronology or study comparison to see how the material has been assembled.
A Supreme Court opinion examined alongside the docket and statute. The document distinguishes the holding from the reasoning and identifies questions the Court left open.

Source discovery
A useful source may be buried in a specialist collection or cited in a document you already have. An index entry may point to an older edition. A paper’s conclusion may depend on material in its appendix.
Atlas follows those leads and checks the underlying records. We compare accounts and identify which sources support each finding. If the material does not settle the question, the finished document explains what remains unknown.
The project scope identifies the source collections to be searched. Any access restrictions or licensing costs are addressed before work begins.
How we check the researchWe read the relevant passage and record its qualifications. A reputable publication is not enough if the passage says something narrower than the claim made for it.
An earlier email may contradict a later summary. We place both in the record rather than choose whichever makes the cleaner story.
An unavailable document or an unanswered question belongs in the delivery notes. You need to know where the research stopped and why.
The analysis arrives with the supporting references agreed in the scope. You can return to a passage or hand the record to a colleague without asking them to repeat the search.

The appeal addressed the first fair use factor for AWF’s 2016 license of Orange Prince to Condé Nast. The research question must identify that use before comparing the records.

Focused research projects begin at $1,500. A written proposal identifies the deliverable and deadline before work begins.
Paid project definition starts at $600. A bounded source map starts at $900. Atlas Access offers smaller assignments at $225 or $450 for students and emerging writers, as well as independent scholars.

Client names and material are not published without express written permission. Work can be delivered without Atlas branding, subject to the project terms and any attribution duties that apply.
Handling and retention are agreed for the project. Where encrypted transfer is required, the channel is confirmed and tested with you before sensitive material is sent.

Tell us the question and your deadline. If you already have material, describe it briefly. An inquiry does not start paid research. Keep confidential files back until a suitable transfer method has been agreed.
